We can now present a co-lab with Betterfelt, a company that does not only make the perfect slipper in 100% wool to chill out in. They also do good, as each pair of slippers creates 1/2 day of work for a woman at their workshop in Nepal. Work that pays these women a decent salary, that helps with funding for their children go to school, helps them with savings, 

Things that are natural for us but absolutely not a certainty for women in Nepal. So when we got the chance to be part of this, we wanted to take the chance and help. We have got our hand on a limited amount of Betterfelt slippers and you can pre-order your pair right now. Shipping will start on the 11th of November.

When you receive your products from Betterfelt, you will find a small embroidered tag on it. This is the artisans personal signature, that vouch for the quality and make you able to meet her. This is fantastic and makes it all very real we think. 

Betterfelt is a fair trade importer with a very clear vision to do good 

With the motivation to create a good working environment for their employees, and where fair salary is a basic thing. The artisans, (almost all female), is having a salary equivalent to a male skilled worker or public teacher i Kathmandu. She has 34 paid holydays and an extra months salary during their festivals in the autumn. Finally she has a 10% saving on top of her salary and the right for 45 days paid maternity leave.

There is a contribution to the education of their employees' children. This means that all employees have received a cash grant for each child equivalent to the cost of public school. But not only the children should be educated. All employes are offered free English courses and for those who can’t read and write, they offer training in these skills first.
